Why giving your maximum effort during your workouts is so important

As a fitness enthusiast, it is easy to get caught up in the numbers game—how much weight you can lift, how fast you can run, etc. However, what many people fail to realize is that the number on the scale or the stopwatch is only one small part of the equation. In order to see real results from your workouts, you have to give them your all—110% effort, 100% of the time. Here's why:

You'll See Faster Results

If you're not putting forth your best effort during every single workout, you're not going to see the results you want—plain and simple. When you halfheartedly go through the motions, your body isn't being challenged enough to make significant changes. In order to see real gains in strength and endurance, you have to push yourself outside of your comfort zone on a regular basis.

You'll Stay Motivated Longer

When you give each workout everything you've got, you're more likely to stay motivated in the long run. Seeing yourself making consistent progress is one of the best ways to keep yourself coming back for more day after day, week after week. On the other hand, if your workouts are lackluster and uninspired, it's only a matter of time before you start skipping them altogether.

You'll Avoid Injury

Another negative of not giving your all during your workouts is that you're more likely to get injured. When you're not fully focused on what you're doing, it's easy to let form slip—and that's when injuries happen. If staying healthy and avoiding injury is a priority for you, be sure to give each workout your full attention.
